4 - Troubleshooting

4.1 - Vacuum Troubleshooting

Vacuum is not turning on.
Possible Cause
Vacuum may not be getting
power.
Vacuum is not producing suction.
Possible Causes
Recovery tank is full.
External vacuum hose
blockage (if there is no
exhaust).
Clogged filter in vacuum
tank.
Drain valve/cap is loose
and is causing air leakage.
Hose cuffs are loose and
causing air leakage.
Lid on vacuum tank is loose
and is causing air leakage.
Vacuum blows water out the exhaust.
Possible Causes
Electronic shutoff is mal-
functioning, causing the
vacuum to continue running
even when the recovery
tank is full.
Foam building up in the
recovery tank.
Boot behind vacuum port is
turned the wrong way.
There is a loud grinding noise coming from the
vacuum.
Possible Cause
Debris has been sucked
into the vacuum motor
chamber. Usually results
from dry vacuuming.
Solution
Check for faulty connec-
tions between the motor,
switch, relay and power
cord. Secure any loose
connections.
Solutions
Empty the recovery tank.
Check for blockage in
the hose, starting from
the cleaning tool to the
machine.
Clean out filter regularly.
Tighten the drain cap/make
sure valve is completely
shut.
Tighten all hose cuffs
regularly as may loosen
over time. Use a glue to
prevent cuffs from coming
loose (optional).
Make sure the lid is tight.
Solutions
Replace the electronic float
switch with a ball float.
Use a defoamer.
Make sure this plastic boot
is turned toward the right
wall of the machine and not
toward the ball float.
Solution
Replace the vacuum motor.
To avoid repeat problem,
DO NOT dry vacuum with
your extractor.

4.2 - Pump Troubleshooting

Pump runs but there is no spray.
Possible Causes
Tank is empty.
Blockage or kink
somewhere in the line.
Pump valves are clogged or
damaged.
Pump has lost prime.
Low pressure.
Possible Causes
Nozzle is worn
Leak in high pressure hose
or connections.
Filter is clogged.
Pump valves are clogged or
damaged.
Pump pulsates when spraying.
Possible Causes
Filter is clogged.
Pump valves are clogged or
damaged.
Motor does not operate.
Possible Causes
Blown circuit breaker.
Leaks seen under pump.
Possible Causes
Pump seals are worn.

Solutions
Fill tank.
Locate where the blockage
is and repair accordingly.
Examine valves and clean
or replace.
Follow the priming
procedure.
Solutions
Replace nozzle with a new
one of the same size.
Check hose or connec-
tions, replace as needed.
Clean filter.
Examine valves and clean
or replace.
