The blended fabric of the sock keeps the skin dry and does not increase body temperature.
The Derma Seal Trans Ped offers high wearing comfort due to its fabric and the inner polymer
gel layer.
4 Application and care
The Derma Seal Trans Ped stump sock is pulled over like a normal sock. The polymer gel should
be placed directly on the skin of the residual limb. In this way its medical oil will ensure optimal
care of the skin and keep it smooth.
After one day's use the stump sock should be washed by hand in warm water (approx. 30 °C)
using a mild detergent. Thoroughly rinse with clear water. Do not wring.
The drying process in the area of the special polymer gel layer may last longer. To reduce the time
of drying, the stump sock may be pre-dried in a towel immediately after washing. Then it should
be laid flat on a drying frame or on a terry towel for complete drying.
The Derma Seal Trans Ped stump sock should not be worn in a wet condition.
Any tackiness of the polymer gel can be reduced by slightly dusting the gel layer with talcum
powder.
For better hygiene of the residual limb skin it is recommended to remove the Derma Seal Trans
Ped stump sock for a few hours each day, thus providing the skin with fresh air.
