STEP 3: Add the IC socket. Line up the U shaped notch of the socket to the notch on the

PCB layout. Solder only the IC socket to the PCB. Do not solder the actual IC. The IC

inserts into the socket the same way you'd plug a vacuum tube into a socket. See page

21 for instructions on how to install the IC into the socket.
