LABDMM2
31. USB/RS232 COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL
Normally the USB port of LABDMM2 is automatically recognized by the Windows operating system, otherwise it is
necessary to install the driver found in the Driver folder of the disk attached to the manometer.
The pressure gauge can alternately manage communication via USB port or via RS232 serial port (option), both USB and
RS232 communications use the same protocol.
In the Parameter Menu it is possible to select whether to manage the transmission on request cont0 or in continuous
mode cont1.
From a software point of view, USB communication is compatible with RS232C communication.
Communication protocol: 8 data bits, 1 bit stop, No parity
Baud Rate (only for RS232): 9600 (in the case of USB any valid baud rate can be set)
TRANSMISSION ON REQUEST OF PRESSURE VALUE (cont0)
For pressure reading on the pressure gauge use the command: p000cr
Data format transmitted: SXX.XXX UM Z PY LB cr
S
1 character : sign (ASCII + o - )
XX.XXX
Pressure measured value (with decimal point)
Pressure unit code (2 digit):
UM
00 = bar, 01 = mbar, 02 = psi 03 = MPa, 04 = kPa, 05=kg/cm2, 06=mHg, 07=mmHg, 08=mmH
Z
1 character : 'Z' ZERO function is active otherwise ' ' (space).
2 character :
p+ = peak positive functionis active :
PY
p- = negative peak function is active.
' '(2 spaces) – normal mode
LB
2 characters : 'LB' is a low battery condition is detected otherwise ' ' (2 spaces)
cr
1 character : String Terminator CR (decimal 13) carriage return
To read the temperature use the following command: T0000cr
The format of the response is as follows: T0xxx.xcr where xxx.x is the temperature
PARAMETER PROGRAMMING COMMANDS
Format of parameter programming commands:
p
Start of command (ASCII 'p')
n
1 character : identify the command
XX
2 characters : parameter value in ASCII
cr
1 character : String Terminator CR (decimal 13) carriage return

Negative Peak
Mode
CONTINUOUS TRANSMISSION OF THE PRESSURE VALUE.
By setting cont 1 in the Parameter Menu, the transmission of the pressure value takes place continuously every 100ms.
The transmitted message has the same format as the one already described.
