3. To supply and control the electric motor.
The inverter controls the electric motor through
an rpm sensor and a temperature sensor located
on the motor. It reduces the rpm when power
required is high. If the motor torque required is
high, the inverter constantly reduces the rpm to
avoid excessive battery consumption which is
detrimental for battery performance.
Ground module ECM1-2 controls the rpm
through the inverter according to the function
activated by the operator. To optimize the per-
formances and keep the movements smooth,
these communications are performed by a series
of switches inside ECM1-2.
The Inverter controls the condition of low level
battery pack. When the battery charge level
reaches 10% of the total capacity (this informa-
tion is provided by the BMS through CAN BUS),
the inverter reduces the motor rpm and reduces
operation speeds.
Thus, the operator is informed about the need to
charge the batteries even if the machine can be
operated for limited time.
