Performance Measurements

8.1.1 Tip Loading Check

Use "Flextest.key" in this test
-
Connect RS-cable or USB from PC to KingFisher Flex. Make sure you have chosen the
correct connection cable type from Kingfisher Flex User Interface - Maintenance Menu
-
Turn on instrument, open HWDoctor and select "KingFisher Flex" as an instrument
-
Type VER and press enter to make connection between PC and KF Flex
-
Load "Flextest.key"
-
Set KF96 plate and tip comb to plate position 1
-
Select "tip load" --> Instrument will pick up the tip comb from the KF96 plate
-
Select "tip unload" --> Instrument will release tip comb over to the KF96 plate.
Note: Getting "Tips missing" -error message: Refer to Section 8.3.2, on page 8-8

8.1.2 Magnet Head Check

Use "Flextest.key" in this test
-
Make sure that tip comb and Deep well magnet head are in place
-
Select "m bottom", the magnets should be as close as possible to the bottom of the tip
comb. Tip comb may move a little bit (less than approx. 0,5 mm) when the magnets reach
the bottom, but not push out the tip comb.
-
Select "m up".
When needed to adjust the magnet head, refer to Section 8.3.1, on page 8-8.

8.1.3 Turntable Check

Use "Flextest.key" in this test
-
Set KF96 alignment plate to plate position 1
-
Select "pos 1"
-
Select "h plate level" and "h alignment"
-
Check that tips are pointing directly to middle of the wells
-
Select "h up"
-
Select "pos 4"
-
Select "pos 1"
-
Select "h plate level" and "h alignment"
-
Check that the adjustment has not moved
-
Select "h up"
-
Remove KF96 alignment plate.
When needed to adjust the turntable, Refer to Section 8.3.4, on page 8-10.
