 Digital Signature: Yes/No*. You can activate a digital signature of the recorded video. Once a video
is recorded, a hash of the video file is generated and signed using a certificate uploaded by the
customer; a p7m file is produced together with the video file. The p7m file contains the signed
hash and can be used to verify that the video has not been altered or tampered with.
To upload a valid certificate to be used as your own digital signature, see previous section. If a
personal certificate is not uploaded, XT will use a self-signed certificate to digital sign recorded files,
if configured. Please note that self-signed certificates do not assure the same level of security as the
certificates signed by an official Certificate Authority.
In the Web interface, More Options>Recording, a Verify signature button is displayed if the recorded
file and its companion signature (.p7m) file are available on the USB storage. If the signature is
verified, a green seal is displayed below the video preview. Clicking on the seal icon, details about
the signature certificate are displayed.

Important
 If no valid certificate is uploaded to sign recording files, XT will use a self-signed
certificate to digital sign recorded files, if configured. Please note that self-signed
certificates do not assure the same level of security as the certificates signed by an
official Certificate Authority.
 Please be sure to save your Digital Signature Certificate in a safe storage. When XT
is restored to factory settings your digital signature certificate is lost. You need your
digital signature certificate uploaded to XT if you want to verify the integrity of the
recorded files using the XT.
