Configuring burst mode
Burst mode is a special mode of the slave device that allows the slave to send signals
periodically without being requested to by the master. Using burst mode, for example, process
values can be sent to the gateway at regular intervals. Up to ten different burst mode messages
can be defined.
The following list contains information about the structure of these input boxes and the format
in which you can enter information in these boxes.

Update period [s]
Maximum update period [s]

Meaning
the 20 mA value.
● To do this, you simulate 20 mA on the con‐
nected field device or set a current of 20 mA
in a different way.
Input value X1 ... X32 for linearization (mA).
● The values must increase monotonically
Output values Y1 ... Y32 for linearization (unit of
the primary variable)
● Values must increase or decrease monot‐
onically.
Meaning
Specifies whether or not burst mode is enabled.
● Off: Burst mode is not enabled.
● Enabled in WirelessHART
Based on the relevant long TAG, the subdevice index lists
the connected HART field devices and the adapter so that
they can be selected for the burst mode configuration. In
HART field devices with a HART version 5 or lower, the
"Message" parameter is shown in the subdevice index in‐
stead of the long TAG.
If the "message trigger mode" is set to "continuous", this
parameter specifies the time that elapses between two
burst messages
● If the other "trigger modes", this time is used to specify
how often the condition ("burst trigger level") is checked.
The "message trigger mode" is set to a value other than
"continuous":
If the condition ("burst trigger level") is not met, the maxi‐
mum time in seconds that may elapse between burst mes‐
sages is specified.
Decides the event that triggers a burst message from the
device.
Specifies the classification of the message
