8.1 Installing and connecting the battery unit

Installation and removal of the battery unit must only be carried out by qualified personnel.

To connect the battery unit, follow these steps:
1. If the battery unit is not yet inserted, insert it in the battery compartment.
Make sure that the battery unit locks audibly in the battery compartment.
2. Plug the battery connector into the socket on the board cover.
Once the WirelessHART adapter is supplied with current, the operating software starts up. A
self test is then performed on the WirelessHART adapter to check whether the attachments to
the terminals have been changed.
If the device is starting up for the first time, the attachments to the terminals are detected.
