2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

2.1

Precautions

WARNING!
CAMPAGNOLA S.r.l. declines all responsibilities if the precautions below are not taken.
The accomplishments concerning working environment safety and health regulations indicated by the current
laws (2003/10/CE Directive, 2002/44/CE Directive and 81/2008 Law Decree) have to be carried out either by the
end-user or by the employer: supplying the adequate individual protecting devices, informing about working ri-
sks, performing sanitary survey, etc...
The over-exposure to the vibrations may cause neurovascular lesions to people suffering from circulatory disor-
ders. In case of symptoms which could be referred to, such as an over-exposure, a specialist has to be contac-
ted. These symptoms can be torpor, loss of sensitivity, sharp pains, itch, strength reduction or loss, complexion
discoloration or structural modifications. This usually happens in one's hands, wrists and fingers.
2.1.1

Results of the tests carried out according to the Laws

WARNING!
Risks due to the operator's contact with the noise and vibrations of the machine or tool.
1) NOISE LEVEL
Continuous A-weighted sound pressure level at the operator's ear (LpA) and sound power level of the tool (LwA),
both calculated according to the UNI EN ISO 3744 rules:
Measured sound power level:
As the LpA level at the operator's ear is > 90 dBA, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
It is compulsory to inform the operators and provide them with the specific training.
It is compulsory to provide the operators with safe and adequate hearing protections and to check they are
actually used.
2) VIBRATIONS LEVEL
The medium quadratic value of the acceleration, which the operator's hand-arm system has to bear according to
the frequency, has been calculated complying with the EN ISO 5349-2 regulations:
Test under load on the front handgrip (extension pole L = 2 m):
Test under load on the front handgrip (extension pole L = 3 m):
Test under load on the rear handgrip (extension pole L = 2 m):
Test under load on the rear handgrip (extension pole L = 3 m):
The acceleration under load, which the arms have to bear, exceeds 2.5 m/sec2. Therefore, the following require-
ments must be fulfilled.
The operator shall be informed about the vibrations risks.
The operator shall undergo a periodic check up.
The employer shall take all necessary measures to reduce the operator's risks (perform routine maintenance,
use protective gloves, carefully follow this Use and Maintenance Manual, avoid prolonged use of the equip-
ment).
2.1.2
