v You might be prompted during the installation with a question for setting
the second node; proceed as follows:
– If you are setting the only node in a stand-alone configuration, or if
you are setting the primary node (Server A) in a clustered
configuration, answer No
– If you are setting the second node (Server B) in a clustered
configuration, answer Yes
.
When configuring RAS, prompts to confirm current entries appear. Confirm
or update any of the entries that are prompted until you get the following
message:
RAS Configuration ended successfully
4. To ensure that VTFD services have restarted, perform the following substeps:
a. Type B and press Enter to return to the ProtecTIER Service menu.
b. Type the numeral corresponding to Manage ProtecTIER services and press
Enter. The Manage ProtecTIER Services menu displays.

c. Type the numeral corresponding to Display services status and press
Enter.
d. Perform one of the following choices:
v If all services show a status of UP, go to step 6.
v If one or more services do not show a status of UP, go to step 5.
5. To start all services, perform the following substeps:
a. Press Enter to return to the Manage ProtecTIER Services menu.
b. Type the numeral corresponding to Start all services and press Enter.
c. If all services start successfully, go to step 6 (if performing this step on
Server A) or step 9 on page 90 (if performing this step on Server B). If any
service fails to start, contact your next level of support.
6. When RAS configuration is complete on Server A, do one of the following:
v If you are installing a stand-alone configuration, go to "Verifying the
complex systems attached to the TSSC" on page 90.
v If you are installing a clustered configuration, go to step 7.
7. Disconnect the USB keyboard and monitor from Server A and connect them to
Server B.
Note: If you are unable to connect to the server by using the procedure in step
1 on page 87, see Appendix C, "Making a server connection through the IMM,"
on page 151 for instructions on connecting to the server by using the IMM in
the server and your service notebook or the TSSC.
