4.1 Flue gas systems
External wall installation
(type C
, according to TRGI '86/96)
53x
The heat generator obtains combustion
air from the atmosphere at the outside
terminal via a horizontal, concentric
coaxial pipe and extracts flue gas via the
roof to the atmosphere.
In its vertical part, the outside pipe of the
concentric coaxial pipe acts as thermal
insulation because of its static layer of air.
The combustion air is drawn in via the
balanced flue air inlet.
For a detailed description, see page 147.
Vertical outlet, if no duct is available
(type C
, according to TRGI '86/96)
33x
(various options)
1 direct, vertical roof outlet through a
pitched roof
2 indirect, vertical roof outlet through a
pitched roof with protective pipe
inside the attic space (not constructed
as a room) or fire protection
brickwork (constructed as a room)
3 direct, vertical roof outlet through a
flat roof
The heat generator obtains combustion
air from the atmosphere and extracts flue
gas to the atmosphere via a concentric
coaxial pipe through the roof.
For a detailed description, see page 141.
Separate ventilation air and flue pipes
(type C
, according to TRGI '86/96)
53x
The heat generator obtains combustion
air from the atmosphere via a separate
ventilation pipe and extracts flue gas to
the atmosphere via a duct leading
through the roof.
The union to the chimney is designed as
a coaxial pipe (living space).
This balanced flue system is used if the
existing chimney is unsuitable for routing
combustion air because of its dimensions
or properties (deposits).
For a detailed description, see page 145.
