This issue can be resolved by following these steps:
1. Temporarily limit the memory to less than 4 GB.
This can be accomplished by physically removing RAM to reduce it to less than 4
GB.
Alternately, you can use a boot parameter to limit the memory that is used by
SLES. The boot parameter is mem=nnnn, where nnnn is equal to a number less
than 4G.
2. Install the latest kernel update to version 2.6.5-7.311 or newer.
After using the above method to limit the memory while the system is installed,
the kernel can be updated to provide the fixes so that the full amount of memory
can be used.

Error messages might appear in SLES 10 OS dmesg

The following error messages might appear in the SLES 10 SP2 64-bit OS dmesg:

init fails - No ACPI_OSC support aer: probe of

Post OS driver update script fails to run

The following error message might display when running the post OS driver
(install.sh) update script:
bash ./install.sh: /bin/sh: bad interpreter: Permission denied
Workaround:
Run the post OS driver update using the sh install.sh command, or unmount
and remount the Tools & Drivers DVD manually.
