Installing Drivers and Software

To install the drivers and software from the "Documentation and Drivers" CD
supplied, proceed as follows:
S Place the CD in the CD ROM drive.
S Start the Start programm on the CD.The Acrobat Reader is started by the CD.
S Navigate to the driver list (language, operating system and device dependent).
S Please install the corresponding driver according to driver list.
Notice
When reinstalling Windows 98 and Windows 2000, make sure to install the chip
set driver prior to the other drivers.
When reinstalling Windows NT, the Windows NT ServicePack has to be installed
prior to all the other drivers. The Service Pack has to be reinstalled after a driver
installation.
8.3.1 Reinstalling the RAID Controller driver
The procedure to install the drivers can be found in the PROMISE user manual on
the supplied "Documentation and Drivers" CD.
Notes on Windows NT
For Windows NT, you have to select the driver WinNT Promise FastTrack 100
TX2/TX4 (tm) Controller from the suggested list.
When reinstalling Windows NT, ATAPI.SYS must be activated to enable the
operation of CD-ROM/CD-RW.
Change the start mode to Restart in Control Panel > Devices > ATAPI. You then
have to restart your computer.
Notes on Windows 2000/XP
When reinstalling Windows 2000/XP, you have to select the driver Win2000
Promise FastTrack 100 TX2/TX4 (tm) Controller or WinXP Promise FastTrack 100
TX2/TX4 (tm) Controller from the suggested list.
