Effective July 2018, the Cisco ASR 920-10SZ-PD front panel and case are remodeled. All installation
procedures, however, remain the same. The following figure shows the remodeled Cisco ASR 920-10SZ-PD
and the Cisco ASR-920-8S4Z-PD router. The difference between the two variants is only the label on the
front panel.

Prerequisites

Before installing the router, it is important to prepare for the installation by:
• Preparing the site (site planning) and reviewing the installation plans or method of procedures (MOP).
• Unpacking and inspecting the router. See Unpacking and Verifying the Shipped Contents section.
• Gathering the tools and test equipment required to properly install the router. See Tools and Equipment
