11.3 User Configuration - Definitions of Access levels

After completing addressing of the system as mentioned in Section 11.2, next step is
to define number the of users and user settings. In accordance with BS 5839-9:2011
standard, VoCALL 16 product range provides following access levels for appropriate
usage of the system.
1. Access level 1 – Members of public.
Outstations – Type A and Type B are readily available for usage by members of the
general public to initiate/ receive a call. No passwords/pin/key is required for use.
Functionality available - Start and end a call
2. Access level 2 – Authorized access for person who is trained by installer/
commissioner to operate the EVC system.
MX Panel features allows restricting its usage by an authorized person. Key lock
facility is provided to restrict usage of handset. 4-digit PIN is required to access the
system controls under – 'USER' profile. System can store up to 5 'uSEr' profiles.
Default functionality available for 'USER' profile:
A. Start and end a call – to give assistance to a member of the public.
B. Perform following operations on panel:
i.
View Event Log
ii. View Fault Log
iii. View Call Log
iv. Change PIN

ote:
USER profile by default does not have permission to clear the faults on
the system.
Accepting fault by 'USER' would silence the buzzer for 8 hours. The buzzer

ote:
would buzz again after 8 hours in case of fault not being corrected. In case of
detection of a new fault on the system, buzzer would be active again.
Call functionality has higher priority over all other functions. During a call,
n
ote:
audible fault indications would be non-active for the duration of call and would
be reactivated once the call is completed.
3. Access level 3 – Authorized access for person who is trained to maintain the
EVC system. This access level allows basic fault finding and system maintenance.
4-digit PIN is required to access the system controls under - 'MANAGER' profile.
System can store up to 3 'mAnAGEr' profiles.
Default functionality available for 'MANAGER' profile:
