VoCALL 16 Digital EVCS – 8 Line Digital
to Analogue Exchange DAX8
Introduction
Eaton's VoCALL 16 is a high specification, digital, loop driven, intelligent emergency voice communication system
offering sophisticated functionality along with an intuitive user interface.
VoCALL 16 is designed to ensure the simplicity of future and legacy system expansion in conjunction with the
DAX8 our loop powered Digital to Analogue convertor.
The DAX8 analogue to digital exchange unit is a wall mounted interface designed to be distributed throughout a
site. This loop powered unit enables the connection of analogue outstations to a digital system.
Each DAX8 exchange unit is remotely powered from its host VoCALL 16 panel which can be an MX or NX variant,
standby battery backup is also supplied by the host panel. The DAX8 is wired on the outstation loop and can be
used in a mixed system in combination with our range of soft addressable digital outstations, up to a maximum
of 16 outstations per panel, either connected via the DAX8 or directly onto the digital loop.
The DAX8 in conjunction with our digital MX and NX panels has the capability to replace legacy VoCALL systems
sold previously by Eaton such as the CFVCX8 and VoCALL 9, retaining their existing wiring and outstations,
ensuring the maximum flexibility in takeovers, upgrades, and expansion of EVC systems
Note, the existing wiring must be in good condition and have been installed as specified by Eaton.
