IMPORTANT
CHECK BRAKE PADS FOR WEAR ES-
PECIALLY BEFORE A TRIP.
This is a quick inspection procedure
to determine brake pad wear:
•
Place the vehicle on the stand.
•
Visually check the disc and
brake pads, looking:
- in the front, for the front brake caliper
(1);
- from the other side of the motorcycle,
through the rim, for the rear brake caliper

IMPORTANT
IF BRAKE PADS WERE ALLOWED TO
WEAR DOWN UNTIL UNCOVERING
THE METAL SUBSTRATE, METAL-TO-
METAL CONTACT WITH THE BRAKE
DISC WOULD LEAD TO RATTLE AND
THE BRAKE CALIPER SPARKING.
THIS WOULD RESULT IN LOSS OF
BRAKING AND BRAKE DISC DAM-
AGE, CAUSING A DANGEROUS RID-

CONTRÔLER L'USURE DES PLA-
QUETTES DE FREIN SURTOUT
AVANT CHAQUE VOYAGE.
Pour réaliser un contrôle rapide de
l'usure des plaquettes :
•
Placer le véhicule sur la béquil-
le.
•
Effectuer un contrôle visuel en-
tre le disque et les plaquettes de
la manière suivante :
- par l'avant, pour l'étrier du frein avant
(1) ;
- sur le côté opposé de la moto, à travers
la jante, pour l'étrier du frein arrière (2).

L'USURE AU-DELÀ DE LA LIMITE DU
MATÉRIAU DE FROTTEMENT PRO-
VOQUERAIT LE CONTACT DU SUP-
PORT MÉTALLIQUE DE LA PLAQUET-
TE AVEC LE DISQUE, CE
PRODUIRAIT UN BRUIT MÉTALLIQUE
ET DES ÉTINCELLES À L'ÉTRIER.
L'EFFICACITÉ DU FREINAGE, LA SÉ-
CURITÉ ET L'INTÉGRITÉ DU DISQUE
SERAIENT AINSI COMPROMIS.
QUI
