Slowly pull Shroud (39) back from the Housing (49) to expose the Carbon Brushes
(46). (See Assy. Diagram.)

Remove the two Carbon Brushes (46) from the two Brush Holders (48).

If the Carbon Brushes (46) are worn down more than 1/2, replace both Carbon
Brushes. If, however, the Carbon Brushes are just dirty they may be cleaned
by rubbing them with a pencil eraser. (See figure H.)

When installing the Carbon Brushes (46), make sure the carbon portion of the
Carbon Brushes contact the motor's Armature (25) and that the springs face
away from the Armature. Also, make sure the springs operate freely. (See
figure H.) Always reinstall brushes in same positions they were in before they
were removed.

After replacement or cleaning, push the Shrouds (39) forward to the Housing
(49). Then, replace the Tap Screw (40). (See figure H.)
NOTE: New Carbon Brushes (46) tend to arc or spark when first used until they

wear and conform to the motor's Armature (25).
To clean: Use a mild detergent to clean the exterior of the Stone Grinder. Do not

immerse the tool in liquid.

When storing, make sure to store the Stone Grinder in a clean, dry, safe location
out of reach of children and other unauthorized people.

TROubLESHOOTING

1.
Make sure the Power Switch is in its "ON" position.
2.
Make sure the tool is plugged into a working, 120 volt, grounded,
electrical outlet.
3.
Make sure the red Light on the GFCI Plug is illuminated when plugged
into a working, 120 volt, electrical outlet. If the Light does not illuminate,
immediately unplug the GFCI Plug from its electrical outlet. Do not
attempt to use the Stone Grinder until a qualified service technician has
checked the GFCI Plug and tool.
4.
Check the condition of the Carbon Brushes. If necessary, clean or
replace the Brushes.
1.
Make sure the faucet of the garden hose is open.
2.
Make sure the Spigot Valve on the tool is open. Adjust the Spigot Valve
to increase the rate of water flow to the tool.
3.
Check the garden hose for kinks and/or blockages.
4.
Check the Tubes of the Stone Grinder for blockages.
