The cutting thread is after-running once the lawn
trimmer has been powered off, before you press the
thread follow-up.
Danger of Cutting!
Wear protective gloves in order to avoid injury to
the hands.
Remove the battery (11/12).
Press the red button on the lower part of the spool
(19) several times. This turns the thread spool roll
further by a few notches. The cutting thread unwinds
automatically when switching on the device. If the
cutting thread (15) exceeds the maximum cutting
diameter it will be shortened by the integrated knife
(16) within the protective hood (2).

Maintenance and care

Before each maintenance and cleaning
work
switch off device
wait until the cutting device does not
longer move
remove the battery.
Wear protective gloves during maintenance and
cleaning work in the area of the cutting tool to
avoid possible injuries.
Maintenance and repair work other than those described in this
chapter is only allowed to be carried out by service staff.
For maintaining and cleaning, removed security devices must
unconditionally be mounted properly and proved again.
Use only original parts. Other parts can result in unexpected
damages and injuries.

Maintenance

The cutting tool will not come to a standstill immediately after
cut-off. Before starting any service work wait until all parts are
stationary.
To guarantee a long and reliable usage of the device carry out
the following maintenance works regularly.
Check the machine for obvious defects such as
− loose fastening elements
− worn or damaged components
− damaged cutting tool
Necessary repair works or maintenance works have to be
carried out before the usage of the machine.

Replacing the thread spool roll

Remove the battery (11/12).
Remove dirt and grass residues.
Press together both locking devices (
spool cover (17) and pull it off.

Sharpening or replacing the thread knife

Cleaning

After work, remove grass, dirt, plant residues and moisture
(plant sap) with a brush or a damp cloth from the area of the
cutting tool and the guard.
Clean the case with a soft brush or a dry cloth.
Clean the contact plug in the battery well with a soft brush.
Do not clean the machine under running water or using a
high-pressure cleaner.
Do not use solvents (gasoline, alcohol, etc.) for plastic parts,
otherwise such parts may be damaged.
Keep handles dry and free of oil and grease.
Make sure the ventilation slots are free from foreign objects
(risk of overheating).

Carry the device balanced on the shaft. Hold the cutting tool

Remove the thread spool roll (18).
Thread the end of the cutting thread "C" of the new
thread spool roll (18) in the opening "D" in the spool
lower part (19) provided for this.
Firmly place the thread spool roll (18) in the spool
lower part (19). Make sure that the cutting thread is
not caught and pull it approx. 12 cm out of the spool
opening „D".
Press the spool cover (17) on the spool lower part (19)
until it engages with a click.
Unscrew the thread knife (16).
Clamp the thread knife into a vice and sharpen it with
a flat file.
Make sure not to change the angle of the knife and file
only in one direction.
File carefully.
Screw down the thread knife again as shown.
Do not overtighten the screws.
Do not use unsharpened or damaged thread knives. A
damaged thread knife must be replaced by a new one.
Clean the device thoroughly after each application so that
the faultless function is kept.
Water, solvents and polishing agents shall not be
applied.
