PISTON REMOVAL
Remove the piston pin clips.
Remove the pin.

NOTE
Mark the pins t o indicate the piston posi-
tion.
PISTON INSPECTION
Measure the ring-to-groove clearance.
Remove the piston rings.
NOTE
Mark the rings so they can be assembled
in their original position.
Clean and inspect the piston crown.
Inspect the piston for damage and cracks; ring
grooves for excessive wear.
Insert each piston ring into the cylinder and
measure the ring end gap.

(TOP/SECOND)
NOTE
To measure the gap, use a piston and
oush the rina souarelv into the cvlinder.
