5 SETTING LIMITS - MODEL T (continued)
5.1 CREATING LIMITS FOR INDIVIDUAL READINGS

Press Menu/Set Limits/Set Upper (or 'Set Lower').
 

If required, repeat Step 2 for 'Set Lower' (or 'Set Upper') and
'Set NDFT'.

Press 'Back' to revert to the main menu.
5.2 CREATING LIMITS FOR A NEW BATCH

Press Batch/New Batch/Batch Limits/Set Limits/Set Upper
(or 'Set Lower').

Follow Steps 2-4 in Section 5.1 above.
If a measurement is taken which falls outside
set and enabled limits, the appropriate limit
icon and the reading value turn red, the red
LED flashes and the alarm beeps.
To disable set and enabled limits:

Press Menu/Set Limits.

6 TAKING A READING

6.1 BEFORE YOU START

Press the On/Off button to switch the gauge on.

Select the measurement units - see Section 4.5 on page en-5.

Select the calibration profile range - see Section 4.6 on page en-5.

Select the display mode - see Section 6.2 below.
6.2 SELECTING THE DISPLAY MODE
The Elcometer 456 IPC has two display modes:
Individual Readings Mode: each individual reading is displayed.
Mean (xbar) Reading Mode readings
are taken in groups of three. When
the third reading is taken, the average
(mean, xbar) of the three readings is
displayed on the right hand side.
Note: When in Batching (Model T only), only the
average of each set of three readings is saved
in the batch memory and used to calculate
batch statistics.
