  • Page 21 Pre-defined Calibration Methods (ST) In addition to the standard calibration methods described on pages 16 - 18, the Elcometer 456 has a four pre-defined calibration methods which follow relevant standards. These pre-defined calibration methods not only define the calibration routine to be used, but also set up the data collection method, as defined by the appropriate standard.

    NAVSEA mode, press Menu/Setup/NAVSEA or Batch/New Batch/NAVSEA. 4 Scan and Auto Repeat Modes are only available on Elcometer 456 Model T separate gauges. The probe end cap must be fitted to the Ultra/Scan Probe when used in these modes to avoid damage to the probe tip. Use in these modes without the cap will invalidate the probe warranty.

    Readings can be stored into memory in batches. Batches allow the user to collate readings for easier analysis of large structures or complex assemblies. Elcometer 456 Model T gauges can store a total of 150,000 readings in up to 2,500 batches, the Model S has one batch of up to 1,500 readings.

The Elcometer 456 will return the gauge to the main reading screen and the selected batch name will be shown at the top of the display (together with a unique gauge batch id number - allowing no two batches to have exactly the same name).

Using the up and down arrow softkeys, set the counted average from 2 - 99 and press the Ok softkey. This returns the user to the previous screen. Press the Back softkey to continue setting up the new batch as required before opening the new batch.

  • Page 80 ULTRA / SCAN PROBES The Elcometer 456 Ultra/Scan Probes have been specifically designed for use with the Scan and Auto Repeat Modes on Elcometer 456 Model T separate gauges - see Measurement Modes on page 25. They are supplied with a highly durable ‘snap on’, user replaceable, probe cap - allowing users to take individual readings or rapidly scan large surface areas without damaging the probe or the coating.
