468 Wheels and tyres
The vehicle is not on a slope.

The vehicle is on solid, non-slippery and level

ground.
Apply the electric parking brake manually.

Move the front wheels to the straight-ahead

position.
Vehicles with automatic transmission:

shift into position j.
Vehicles with level control system: set the

normal vehicle level (

Switch off the engine.

Make sure that the engine cannot be started.
#
Place chocks or other suitable items under
#
the front and rear of the wheel that is diago‐
nally opposite the wheel you wish to change.
Remove the hub caps if necessary

Raise the vehicle (

Removing and fitting hub caps
Requirements:
The vehicle is prepared for a wheel change

Plastic hub cap
To remove: turn the centre cover of the hub
#
cap anti-clockwise and remove the hub cap.
To fit: make sure that the centre cover of the
#
hub cap is turned anti-clockwise.
Position the hub cap and turn the centre
#
cover clockwise until the hub cap engages
physically and audibly.
Aluminium hub cap
To remove: position socket

The socket can be found in the tyre-change
tool kit.
Position wheel spanner

on socket 2.

Using wheel spanner 3, turn hub cap
#
anti-clockwise and remove it.
To fit: position hub cap
1
and turn until it is

completely flush with the wheel.
