After the engine is restarted, obstacles must be
detected again before a new warning can be
issued.
System limitations
The system limitations for Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC apply for passive side impact pro‐
tection.
The following objects are not detected, for exam‐
ple:
Pedestrians who approach the vehicle from

Objects placed next to the vehicle

Deactivating/activating Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC

at close range
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC may not detect
certain objects at close range.
When parking or manoeuvring the vehi‐

cle, pay particular attention to any
objects which are above or below the
sensors, e.g. flowerpots or drawbars.
The vehicle or other objects could oth‐
erwise be damaged.
If indicator lamp

is not lit, Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC is active. If the indicator lamp is lit
or the é symbol appears in the multifunction
display, Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is not
active.
