Incorrect wiring.
Incorrect baud rate / address
different baud rate setting in con-
trol and MA: no communication.
Address >99: no communication.
Incorrect wiring.
Effects due to EMC.
Overall network expansion

Diagnostics and troubleshooting
Measures
Check wiring.
Check switch settings:
Baud rate selector switch S3.
Address switch S1, S2.
Check wiring.
In particular, check wire shielding.
Check the cable used.
Check shielding (shield covering in place up to
the clamping point).
Check grounding concept and connection to
functional earth (FE).
Avoid EMC coupling caused by power cables laid
parallel to device lines.
Check max. network expansion as a function of
the max. cable lengths.
