2.2.4 Connecting the Network Cable

To enable 8650 to function correctly, connect all GE0 ports in the board front panels to a
gigabit switch.
Procedure
Step 1 Plug the RJ-45 connector at one end of the network cable to the GE0 port of the 8650.
Step 2 Plug the RJ-45 connector at the other end of the network cable to a switch.

2.2.5 Connecting the Serial Cable

Procedure
Step 1 Connect the DB9 (DB25) connector to the serial port of the computer or terminal router on
which you will configure the MCU.
Step 2 Connect the RJ-45 connector of the serial cable to the RS-232 serial port on the MCU.

If the video firewall is adopted for networking or if the function of network interface backup is required,
connect a network cable to the GE1 network interface by using the method for connecting a network
cable to the GE0 network interface.
