Problem
Fluid delivery is low.
The sprayer overheats.
Excessive hydraulic pump
noise.
Gallon (liter) counter not add-
ing fluid volume.
Sprayer operates, but display
does not.

Mils not calculating or calcu-
lates wrong.
Fluid spray starts after spray

Cause
Pressure setting too low.
Displacement pump outlet filter (if used) is dirty
or clogged.
Intake line to pump inlet is not tight.
Hydraulic motor is worn or damaged.
Large pressure drop in fluid hose.
Paint buildup on hydraulic components.
Oil level is low.
Low hydraulic fluid level.
Fluid pressure not high enough.
Broken or disconnected pump counter wire,
both pumps.
Missing or damaged magnet.
Bad sensor, both pumps.
Bad connection between control board and
display.
Display damaged.
Machine not calibrated.
Rear tire pressure is too low or too high.
Gear teeth missing or damaged (right side
when standing on platform).
Distance sensor is loose or broken.
Distance sensor.
Gallon counter.
Line width not entered.
Bad or damaged control board.
Interrupter.
Loose connector.
Interrupter (164) is improperly positioned.
Interrupter is improperly positioned.
Reed switch assembly is damaged.
Fluid filter is dirty.
Tip, Filter or Manifold is clogged.
Displacement pump is stuck.

Solution
Increase pressure.
Clean filter.
Tighten.
Bring sprayer to Graco distributor for repair.
Use larger diameter for shorter hose.
Clean.
Fill with oil.
Shut off sprayer. Add fluid.
Must be over 800 psi (55 bar) for counter to
add.
Check wires and connections. Replace any
broken wires
Reposition or replace magnet on pump, see
Parts manual (Pump parts) for magnet location.
Replace sensor.
Remove display and reconnect.
Replace display.
Perform calibration procedure.
Adjust tire pressure to 55 +/- 5 psi (380 +/-
34kPa).
Replace distance gear/wheel hub.
Reconnect or replace sensor.
See "Distance counter not operating properly".
See "Gallon (liter) counter not adding fluid vol-
ume."
Set line width on main striping screen.
Replace control board.
Turn screw counterclockwise until spray icon
synchronizes with fluid spray, page 22.
Check that 5-pin connector and reed switch are
properly connected.
Turn screw counterclockwise until spray icon
synchronizes with fluid spray.
Turn screw clockwise until spray icon is syn-
chronized with fluid spray, page 22.
Replace reed switch assembly.
Clean filter.
Clean components, drill passages.
Repair pump, see pump manual.
Clean, see page 46.
