Configuring
6.2 Configuring the 3RW5 soft starter
Procedure
...
1. Integrate the 3RW5 soft starter in the configuration software of the controller with the EDS
file as an adapter in the EtherNet/IP system (Page 47).
2. Address the adapter (3RW5 soft starter) in the configuration software of the controller
using the IP parameters (factory settings).
Note the information in chapter IP parameters (Page 45).
If BOOTP/DHCP server (Page 46) is activated in the TCP/P Interface Object (Page 104),
you can set the IP parameters via a BOOTP/DHCP server tool and transfer them to the
3RW5 communication module with the aid of the MAC address. Ignore steps 3 and 4 for
this scenario.
Note
BOOTP/DHCP server
If you do not deactivate the BOOTP/DHCP server after setting the IP parameters, the
3RW5 EtherNet/IP communication module restarts without a valid IP address and
resends BOOTP/DHCP messages.
3. Set the desired IP parameters via the TCP/IP Interface Object (Page 104) in the
3RW5 soft starter.
Note the information in chapter IP parameters (Page 45).
4. Enter the changed IP parameters of the adapter in the configuration software of the
controller.
Note the information in chapter IP parameters (Page 45).
5. Load the configuration into the scanner (if required).
Result
The 3RW5 soft starter is configured in the EtherNet/IP system, and can communicate with
other EtherNet/IP devices via the 3RW5 EtherNet/IP communication module.
