Commissioning PN/M-Bus LINK

Requirements
● The PN/M-Bus LINK is mounted and connected to a SIMATIC S7 CPU via PROFINET.
● The M-Bus is connected to the PN/M-Bus LINK
● PN/M-Bus LINK and all other components are wired and connected.
Basic commissioning procedure
After commissioning of the hardware perform the additional steps required for
commissioning in the TIA Portal.
TIA Portal
1. Install the GSDML file. This step integrates the PN/M-Bus LINK in the HW catalog
(for details, see TIA Portal Devices & Networks (Page 36)).
2. Enter a PROFINET device name and an IP address for the PN/M-Bus LINK.
3. Creating a project
4. Configuring in the TIA Portal (see also Configuring / Programming (Page 36)).
5. Download project to the S7 CPU
6. Set the SIMATIC-CPU to RUN mode. The corresponding configuration data is then
downloaded automatically from the S7-CPU to the PN/M-Bus LINK.
7. The light of the left RUN LED indicates that the device is in error-free operating state.
When the right RUN LED lights up, this indicates that the M-Bus communication is
running without error.
Note
The complete startup of the PN/M-Bus LINK (initialization of the firmware, transfer of
configuration data and startup of PROFINET and M-Bus communication) takes several
seconds, depending on the complexity of the configuration.
Result
PN/M-Bus LINK has been successfully commissioned.
