GARLAND CLAMSHELL GRILLS WITH PRODUCT RECOGNITION

TO CHANGE THE MAGNET ASSEMBLY

1. Remove grease
cup and lock nut.
2. With a Phillips head
magnet, screw
magnet CLOCK-
WISE out of the bot-
tom of the platen
arm assembly
3. If the magnet
does not clear the
platen arm assem-
bly, lower the gap
adjustment in the
front to give clear-
ance for the mag-
net assembly.

TO REPLACE THE LINEAR ACTUATOR

1. Cut the plastic
tie oding wire,
remove screws (2)
of clip, and dis-
connect the cable
from the Motor
Speed Control
Board.
2. Disconnect the
motor leads from
the wire harness.
Mark wires con-
nector or make
notes for future
reconnection.

4. Install new mag-
net assembly
from the bot-
tom up. ENSURE
PROPER SEATING.
CROSS THREAD-
ING CAN OCCUR.
5. Perform platen leveling procedure.
6. Perform reed switch calibration proce-
dure, (see section titled "TO SET THE REED
SWITCHES" .
3. With the platen in
the UP position,
support it with a
pry bar, 2x4, etc.,
from behind the
platen arm assem-
bly. Pull the platen
arm towerd the
rear of the grill to
insert.
