Breakdown assistance
Jump-starting connection point (example)

Right-hand-drive vehicles: the jump-start‐
ing connection points may be on the oppo‐
site side.
Remove the cover from the positive terminal
#
on the donor battery.
First, connect the positive terminal clamp of
#
the jump leads/charging cables to the posi‐
tive terminal of the other vehicle's battery.
With positive terminal clamp
#
lead, slide the red protective cap on jump-
starting connection point
clockwise turn.
Connect the positive terminal clamp to the
#
positive terminal of jump-starting connection
point 1.
When giving or receiving starting assis‐
#
tance: start the engine of the donor vehicle
and let it run at idle speed.
Connect the negative terminal of the donor
#
battery to the earth point of your own vehicle
with the jump lead/charging cable. Begin
with the donor battery.
When giving or receiving starting assis‐
#
tance: start the engine on your own vehicle.
When charging: start the charging process.
#
When giving or receiving starting assis‐
#
tance: let the engine run for a few minutes.
When giving or receiving starting assis‐
#
tance: before disconnecting the jump lead,
switch on an electrical consumer on your own
vehicle, e.g. the rear window heater or light‐
ing.

When the starting assistance/charging process is
complete:
First, remove the jump leads/charging cables
#
from the earth point and negative terminal of
the other vehicle's battery, then from the pos‐
itive terminal of jump-starting connection
point

and the positive terminal of the
other vehicle's battery. Each time, begin at
the contacts on your own vehicle.
The red protective cap springs back to its ini‐
tial position when positive terminal clamp
is disconnected from jump-starting connec‐
tion point 1.

Fitting and removing the floor covering (vehi‐
cles with rear-wheel drive)
& WARNING Risk of accident due to
objects in the driver's footwell
Objects in the driver's footwell may impede
pedal travel or block a depressed pedal.
This jeopardises the operating and road
safety of the vehicle.
Stow all objects in the vehicle securely
#
so that they cannot get into the driver's
footwell.
Ensure floor mats and carpets cannot
#
slip and provide sufficient room for the
pedals.
Do not lay multiple floor mats or carpets
#
on top of one another.
Switch off all electrical consumers.
