Messages

There are two kinds of messages; error messages and
warning messages. This section lists these messages
together with their possible causes and remedies. Note
the messages and act accordingly.
Besides error and warning messages, other messages
stating the operating status of the printer are also
displayed. Those messages are not described here.

Error Messages

If a problem occurs, the ALARM indicator lights and an
error message stating the problem appears on the printer
window display. Note the message and perform
whatever action is necessary to solve the problem.
Error messages
Possible causes and remedies
CHECK PAPER AND
The paper may be jammed.
tRemove jammed paper from the
PUSH [EXEC]
CLOSE DOOR
The maintenance door is open.
tClose the maintenance door
MECHA TROUBLE
Mechanical trouble has occurred in the
printer.
tTurn off the power once and then
NO IMAGE DATA
No image data is stored in the printer
memory.
tTransfer the image data from your

When printing, the cleaning sheet was

tLoad the paper into the paper tray
(page 9).
SET TRAY
The paper tray is not installed.
tInstall the paper tray (page 10).

Other Messages

When the following message appears, the ALARM
indicator does not light. The PRINT indicator blinks.
Error messages
Possible causes and remedies
CLEAN FAN FILTER The filter has become dirty.
tRemove the fan cover on the side
panel of the printer and then
remove the filter. Clean the filter
(page 18).
HEAD IN COOLING The thermal head has overheated.
tLeave the printer until the head
cools down and this message
disappears.
HEAD IN HEATING
The thermal head is warming up.
tLeave the printer until the head has
warmed up and this message
disappears.
PLEASE CLEAN
This message appears whenever the
number of sheets printed reaches 500
sheets.
tClean the thermal head. When you
complete the cleaning of the
thermal head, this message appears.
You can continue printing even if
this message is being displayed
(page 16).
PLEASE WAIT
This message appears when the printer
returns to the initial status so that it can
restart to print after you insert the
paper tray into the printer or you close
the maintenance door.
tWait until this message disappears.
RESERVED
The printer is reserved.
tCancel the reservation of the printer
from your computer.
