Execute Diagnostic Commands
When the 1779-KFM interface receives a diagnostic command from its
host device, it transmits the command over the Data Highway II link to
the destination station. However, when the interface receives a diagnostic
command from a remote node of the Data Highway II link, its actions are
conditioned by the setting of the diagnostic commands switch. The
execute-diagnostic-commands switch selections are:
OFF — When the 1779-KFM interface receives a diagnostic
command from a remote node of the Data Highway II link, the
interface directs the command to pass through to the host device.
ON — When the 1779-KFM interface receives a diagnostic command
from a remote node of the Data Highway II link, the interface executes
the command, sending back diagnostic status of the interface to the
remote node.
Initiate Network Parameter Changes
Set this switch to ON if you want the interface to be able to send network
parameter changes to other nodes. Otherwise set it to OFF.
Accept/Reject Network Parameter Changes
Set this switch to ON if you want the interface to accept network
parameter changes sent from other nodes. Set this switch to OFF if you
want the interface to reject network parameter changes from other nodes.
Internal/External Clock
The internal/external-clock switch selections are:
OFF — The host board accepts an external clock from the host device
through the TT circuit (Pins 17 and 35 of the cable) for synchronization
of the host/interface link.
ON — The host board sends an internal clock to the host device
through the ST circuit (Pins 5 and 23 of the cable) for synchronization
of the host/interface link.
