3 - 11 Replacing the Knife

3 - 11 - 1 Procedure to Replace the Knife
If there are following problems, replace the knife.
■ The last few sheets are left uncut even though the cut-
ting stick has been replaced.
■ The cutting noise becomes loud.
■ Cutting line of sheets are as shown below.
■ The total cutting count reaches 2,000 cycles.
The count of 2,000 is just a guide to replace the knife.
Service life of the knife changes depending on width,
height and quality of the sheets. Replace the knife at
1,000 through 2,000 cycles.

Cutting Height and the Service Life of the Knife.
Removing the knife

Turn off the Key switch.
(Fig.2)

Unlock the knife.
(Fig.3)
• Use the supplied Allen wrench and loosen the four
screws on the knife holder counterclockwise by a half
turn.
Do not remove the screws. The knife drops
when the screws are removed completely.
The knife is designed so that it will not drop
WARNING
when the screws are just loosened.
Insert completely the head of Allen wrench into the
screw head when you loosen the screw. Angle the
Allen wrench slightly to insert completely. (Fig. 4)

Descriptions of Mechanisms
• Turn off the Key switch before replacing
the knife.
• The knife is very sharp. Be careful when
you handling.
WARNING
• Be careful not to drop the knife off the
sheath.

If you run the machine with a dull knife, that

causes machine malfunction. Replace the
