2 - 7 Cut Size Is Not Accurate

Does the backgauge plate stick out?

■ The backgauge plate
is pressed against the frame
by the spring. If there is a gap between the backgauge
plate and the frame, the cut size differs from the length
indicated by the indicator. If there is a gap, check the
following:

The three slide shafts
are locked on the backgauge plate.

The two bearings
are mounted correctly.
Nothing is between the backgauge plate

The bottom of the backgauge plate
does not rub the

grooves on the back table
.

The two knurled knobs
are not loosened.

The spring
is mounted correctly.
Is the indicator mounted correctly?

Not rubbing

■ Check that the indicator is mounted in the correct
position. If not, cut a sheet with the backgauge in that
position, and measure the length of the cut sheet.
Adjust the position of the indicator so that the indicator
indicates that length.

There is a gap between the indicator and the scale.
Therefore, the value changes if looked at from different
angles. Look straight down the indicator to read the value
correctly.
