Is the book placed in the center?

The book spine is thicker than the
sheets because of the spine glue.
■ The book spine is thicker than the sheets because of
the spine glue. If the book is in the center, the clamp
crashes the spine when cutting the book.
The clamp has a cutout on the left end as shown in
the drawing above. If the book spine is placed under
the cutout, the book spine is not pressed. Instruct the
operator to place the book spine under the cutout
when cutting the book.

Does the grease come out?

■ The grease is applied on the sliding face of the knife
holder and clamp. If the grease comes out to the point
indicated by the arrow, it contaminates the books.
■ Instruct the operator to wipe off the extra grease which
comes out using tissue paper. (Instruct also not put
hands and fingers under the knife.)
