Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 discuss various configuration options, but first you need a basic
understanding of the various ways to interact with the instrument.

Introducing LWT user interfaces

To configure your LWT instrument, you need to understand the access methods to the parameters that
you need to change and what to expect when you reach these parameters.
There are a few methods to access the parameters, but only two are discussed in the user guide:
• The instrument liquid crystal display (LCD)
• A handheld HART terminal (with HART modem)
For all intents and purposes, a handheld HART terminal is considered as providing an interface similar
to the instrument LCD; thus, interface elements and menu navigation are considered as similar in the
following pages.
Once the LWT instrument is powered up, its display looks like this:
