5. Diagnostics and error handling

5.1 Overview of diagnostic options

The controller CECX-K-D1 offers extensive options for diagnosis and error handling. The
following options are available:
Diagnostic options Brief description
On-the-spot diagno- LEDs on the modules indicate signal states, hardware errors, bus errors, etc. (see
sis via LEDs manual for the respective module).
On-the-spot diagno- The 7-segment display shows corresponding error codes in the event of an error (see
sis via 7-segment Section 5.4). These errors can be acknowledged by briefly pressing the CTRL key on

Diagnosis via soft- Information on this can be found in the online help for the configuration software.

5.2 On-the-spot diagnostics via LEDs

5.2.1 Power LED

The green Power LED is located above the CTRL key on the central modules.
LED Description
Power (green) LED lights up: Power supply present
LED does not light up: No power supply

There is a status LED for each channel. This LED indicates the status of the signal as fol-
lows:
LED Description
Status LED (green) LED lights up: Channel logically 1 (signal present)
LED does not light up: Channel logically 0 (no signal)
