These components a re attached to the b lo w e r-e v a p o ra to r
upper shroud as shown in F igu re 51.

Replacement
1. Disconnect the b attery ground cable.
2. Rem ove the re a r duct as outlined p reviou sly.
NOTE:
It is not n ecessa ry to disconnect the
drain tubes to gain a c cess to these parts.
3. R elay — Disconnect the w irin g harness, rem ove the
two mounting screw s and rem ove the rela y .
R e s is to r — Rem ove the two mounting screw s, low er
and disconnect the harness connector; rem ove the
re s is to r .

Rem ove
the sensing c a p illa ry fro m the
p la stic clip s, disconnect the w irin g
rem ove the switch.
4. T o in stall, re v e r s e "R e m o v a l" Steps 1-3.
NOTE:
When in stalling the therm ostatic switch,
be sure to rep lace the ca p illa ry in the p lastic
clip s (F ig . 52).

BLOWER M O TO R ASSEMBLIES

Removal
1. D isconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Rem ove the re a r duct as outlined p reviou sly.
3. Rem ove
the
b low er
center connector between the m otors.
4. Disconnect the b low er m otor lead w ire s .
5. R em ove the lo w er to upper b lo w e r-e v a p o ra to r case
screw s and lo w e r the lo w e r case and m otor a ssem ­
b lies.
C A U TIO N :
B e fo re rem ovin g the case screw s,
support the lo w e r case to p revent damage to the
case o r m otor a ssem b lies.

m otor and wheels.

Installation
1. P la ce the blow er w heels onto the m otor shaft and
in stall the set screw s; do not tighten the set screw s
at this tim e.
CA U TIO N :
Be sure that the blow er w heels a re
installed as shown in F igu re 53.
2. In stall the blow er m otor retaining strap and foam.
3. P la c e the two b low er m otor and wheel a ssem blies
into the lo w er case.
they do not contact the case and then tighten the
wheel set screw s.
4. P la c e the lo w er case and b low er m otor assem b lies
in position in the veh icle and in sta ll the lo w er to
upper case screw s.
NOTE:
Rotate the blow er w heels to make sure
that they do not rub on the case.
