DOOR WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT

2. P u ll w eath erstrip fro m door, then scrap e any rub­
b e r o r adhesive m a te ria l which m ay have becom e
bonded to door su rface.
3. Apply coat o f w ea th erstrip adhesive to sea l and sea l
su rfaces
of door as d ire c te d by m anufacturer of
adhesive.

4. P osition seal around p e r im e te r of door, making sure
corn ers of s e a l engage re s p e c tiv e corn ers of door.
5. In stall s c re w -re ta in e d clip s to door and w eather­
strip . Tighten clip s c rew s fir m ly .
REAR QUARTER A N D REAR END
REAR W IN D O W A N D CORNER GLASS
Replacem ent
R ea r window glass (and r e a r corn er window glass-w hen
used) a re retain ed by means of rubber sea l and sea l in­
s e rt (fig . 134). Cem ent butt ends of in sert.
1. P r y end of seal in s e rt out of seal with a pointed tool;
then rem ove rubber in s e rt com pletely.

2. If n ecessary, straighten any ir r e g u la r itie s of sea l-
flange in cab opening which may have caused break­
age of glass.
3. In stall new rubber sea l o v e r panel flange, pushing it
com p letely into c orn ers. A void stretch in g seal dur­
ing installation.
Cut seal to allow su fficien t overlap
fo r a tight joint, then butt ends into position.
4. P o sition glass to sea l and in sert lock end of in­
s ta lle r T o o l J-2189 (fig . 134) into seal gro ove. M ove
tool around glass to fo r c e outer lip of sea l o v e r glass.
5. Th read end of rubber in s e rt through handle and loop
of in sta ller, a fte r applying RuGlyde or s im ila r rub­
b er lubricant to rubber in sert (fig . 134). Push tool
and end o f in sert into groo ve at bottom center of
window.

Use a hitching m ovem ent to avoid
elongation of in sert.
6. Cut off end of in sert, allow in g su fficient overlap fo r
a tight joint, then butt into groove. Cement butt ends.
