Cab is three-poin t mounted with two p ivot-typ e mount­
ings at fron t and twin cushion-type mountings at re a r.

Attaching
bolts
at
fron t p ivot mountings should be
checked at reg u la r in terva ls fo r tightness. Loose mount­
ings w ill allow shifting of cab and eventual fa ilu re of
other item s connecting cab to chassis. Front pivot mount­
ings have fittin gs fo r lu brication purposes.
R ea r mounting has p ositive locking m echanism to r e ­
tain cab in n orm al operating position in rela tion to chas­
sis fra m e.
The r e a r mounting also includes an additional
safety catch.
Cab hold-down catch shaft is equipped with a lu brica­
tion fittin g.
A check link is p rovid ed near the right front mounting
which lim its the distance cab can be tilted fo rw a rd and
autom atically locks the cab in the fu ll-tilt position. Check
link must be re le a s e d b e fo re cab can be returned to n or­
m al operation position.
Interconnected with the cab fron t mountings is a torsion
bar which is under load when cab is in eith er the op er­
ating or fu ll-tilte d position. Right end of bar is anchored
to cab bracket and le ft end is anchored to fra m e bracket
as shown.
Bar is fr e e when cab is tilted part way, th erefore, to r ­
sion bar assists op erator in both the ra isin g and low erin g
of cab.

C ontrol panel contains transm ission shift le v e r, hand
brake le v e r, ignition switch and choke.
At upper re a r of cab a seat back r is e r extends en tire
width of cab.
The underside of cab is com pletely insulated to deaden
sound and prevent corrosion .
CA UTIO N:
Under no circum stances should the
bolts
which
attach
bracket to cab and the torsion bar le ft anchor
bracket to fra m e be rem oved when cab is in
operating, or fu ll tilt positions which is when
bar
is
loaded.

be rem oved sa fely when bar is unloaded, cab
tilted part way (approx. 45 d e gre es) as shown in
Figu re 99. N orm a lly it should n ever be neces-
sary to rem ove above mentioned bolts.

CAB ASSEMBLY

Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground strap.
g r ille and headlamp assem bly as described in s e c­
tion 13.
2. Rem ove bumper and bumper f i l l e r panel.
3. Open heater tem peratu re control on dash to fu ll open
position, and drain ra diator. D isconnect heater hoses
at cab connections.
4. Disconnect a ccelera to r linkage and steerin g fle x ib le
coupling.
Disconnect brake lines and clutch line.
5. Disconnect speedom eter cable and all e le c tr ic con­
nectors that junction cab with the chassis.

NOTE:
Rem ove or secu re loose item s in cab
before tilting.
