Configuring Cisco Multimode G.SHDSL EFM/ATM in Cisco ISR G2
mode
To specify the symmetric high bit rate digital subscriber line (SHDSL) mode of operation, use the mode
command in the configuration controller mode. To disable the command, use the no form of this
command for your model number. The no form of this command sets the mode to ATM.

Command Default
By default, the mode is set to ATM for Cisco EHWIC-4SHDSL-EA and Cisco 888-EA ISRs.

Usage Guidelines
Use the ATM mode for EHWIC-4SHDSL-EA and Cisco 888-EA models, and use the EFM mode for the
EHWIC-8SHDSL-E model.
Examples
The following example shows how to use the mode command to configure a Cisco
EHWIC-4SHDSL-EA card installed in a Cisco Access router:
