Possible Cause
Inadequate pulse signal
or
the sensor site is poorly perfused
or
the sensor is not correctly positioned.
Sensor is restricting blood circulation
at sensor site.
Circulation is reduced due to excess
pressure between the sensor and a
hard surface.
Excessive ambient light.
Excessive animal motion.
Performance degradation from:
• arterial catheter
• blood pressure cuff
• electrosurgical procedure
• infusion line
Inadequate pulse signal at sensor
and/
site.

Inadequate pulse signal due to
excessive motion.
SpO
sensor failure.
2
Defective LEDs.
CO
sensor is not plugged in.
2

disconnected.
Airway adapter tube is not connected
to the CO
sensor.
2
Light path is blocked.
CO
sensor lamp is burned out.
2
Electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Troubleshooting
Possible Solution
Reposition sensor.
Remove restriction to increase blood
circulation at sensor site or relocate
sensor.
Allow sensor and tongue/tissue to
rest comfortably on the surface.
Reduce ambient light.
Reduce animal motion.
Reduce or eliminate source.
Assess the animal. Reposition
sensor or select an alternate sensor
site.
Reduce animal motion. Reposition
or relocate sensor.
Replace SpO
sensor.
2
Discontinue use of the device.
Plug CO
sensor in.
2
Reconnect CO
sensor.
2
Verify airway adapter tube is
connected, with windows toward the
sensor.
Replace airway adapter tube.
Replace CO
sensor.
2
Remove device from the EMI
environment.
