Instruction and Maintenance Manual
1. Initial tension of the gasket
- Tighten the nuts which gradually compress the gasket, until turning the pump
shaft manually becomes difficult.
- Make sure that the two nuts have been tightened evenly.
2. Gasket adjustment
- During the initial operation of the pump, the outflow of water is greater than in
normal operation. Leave the pump running for at least 10 minutes or at the most
half an hour. Make sure that there is no overheating or abnormal noise during this
time.
- Once the initial operation has been completed, adjust the gasket so that the ca-
pacity approaches the values indicated on the table. Gradually continue to tighten
the gasket so that it takes between 10 minutes and half an hour to become secure,
otherwise the gasket may become locked.
- During normal operation, never tighten the gasket until the outflow of water is
non-existent.
3. Gasket replacement
Replace the gasket in the following circumstances:
- Every time you dismantle the pump, for example at each maintenance
- When there is no more play enabling the gasket to be tightened
- When the outflow of water can no longer be adjusted
If you find serious damage due to wear on the shaft surface (wear to a depth of 0.7
mm), it must be replaced with a new shaft.
Always replace the gasket with a new one, by placing the rings in a staggered man-
ner so that the cuts do not coincide but actually differ from between 90 to 120 de-
grees.

8. MAINTENANCE

Maintenance operations must be performed by qualified personnel: an error may lead
to damage caused by electrical discharge, fire or malfunctions that in turn could lead to
an accident.
Make sure that the operating power switch is disconnected during maintenance; the
pump could start up suddenly if it is in automatic mode.
If the liquid being pumped is hot water, keep at a safe distance until it has cooled down.
Similarly, do not touch the surface of the motor without making sure that the tempera-
ture has dropped to a tolerable level.
