4.2.4 Capture.

Click the Capture button on the Button Dock to set the criteria to capture data and generate the data cube. The capture
process can be either manual or automatic, depending upon configuration.

4.2.4.1 Manual Capture.

®
The following image is an example of a manual capture from a Nano-Hyperspec
unit.
Figure 4-6. Capture Popup, Nano.
The File Prefix is a user defined reference to more readily identify a file. The frames per cube and other variables are set
®
by the user to collect adequate data for analysis. All the cubes are contained on the Nano-Hyperspec
unit and should be
transfered to a computer after collection. After the variables are defined, click Go to begin the data capture. During the
capture process the Stop button is active. When competed, the Go button again becomes active and the Stop button is
inactive, as shown above. Also, when the scan capture is complete, the Log Dock will show results, as shown below.
Figure 4-7. Capture Log, Log Dock.
Note that the last line in the log file shows the directory where the capture was stored.
If there is an error, the log file will show red letters indicating the error type, in place of the blue shown for a successful
capture.

4.2.4.2 Automatic Capture.

Automatic capture is also set with Hyperspec® III. This feature is often used for aerial and UVA scanning, where a trigger
initiates and stops the scan. Setting automatic capture is done by following the steps in the GPS Triggers section of the
document. The Go button is still clicked, but the scan doesn't start or stop until the specified GPS coordinates are met.

4.2.5 File Transfer.

After a scan is completed, the data cube is stored on the Nano's memory. For review and analysis it is recommended to
move the data cube to a computer with adequate processing capability. To move the data cube, use the following steps.
