3.3.1.5 Settings_Sensor Tab.

Click the Sensor tab.
The pull down values are automatically populated through the software and Nano configuration. The fodis unit needs to
be attached to the Nano, powered ON and operational before it is automatically recognized. Once this is done, use the tab
to enable and configure the fodis sensor. Click the Fodis pull down and select the available option to activate the fodis unit
®
in the Hyperspec
III capture application. This completes the Settings configuration of the sensor and system. When
®
done, click Save and close and re-open Hyperspec
III to enable the changes.

3.3.2 Calibration.

System calibration should be performed before every scan. The calibration steps are used for collecting samples for
system light and dark reference calibration. These reference samples are used to balance the light levels in scans,
optimizing the scan data. The Video Histogram in the following figure shows the interface used for calibration.
