Operation
Before you start printing:
• Is the printer connected properly?
• Are the paper and ink ribbon installed correctly?
• Is the paper suitable for the ink ribbon?

Turn on the computer and the printer.
The printer window display shows the current paper size and type.
Print size display
• A3: A3++ size
• A4: A4++ size
Notes
When the printer is connected to the computer by the SCSI bus, note the following:
• Turn on the printer first, then turn on the computer.
• Do not turn the printer's power on or off while the computer is accessing any
hard disk that is connected through the SCSI bus.

Start printing from the computer.
Note
Do not allow printed sheets to overflow the top of the output tray.
To cancel data transfer or printing:
Send a command to cancel printing from the computer to return the printer to the
waiting condition, or press the
currently being printed will be ejected.
If printing cannot proceed:
• Printing cannot proceed if an error message appears on the printer window
display. Refer to the "Error Messages" (page 36) for remedies.
• Printing cannot proceed when the Menu screen is displayed: push the
to display READY.
If colors are not printing clearly:
Use the Utility program to correct the color tones of the input signals and the print
quality of the printed image, to optimize printer performance for the installed
devices. Refer to the "Utility Manual" for print quality adjustment.
Storing printed images:
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, or conditions of high temperature and high
humidity, so the colors don't fade.
• Avoid applying tape to a printed picture, and avoid contact with plastic objects
such as erasers and desk mats.
• Be careful to avoid touching the print surface with your hands.
