the Battery
Removing the Battery
WARNING
Battery terminals or metal tools could short
against metal machine components causing
sparks. Sparks can cause the battery gasses
to explode, resulting in personal injury.
• When removing or installing the battery,
do not allow the battery terminals to touch
any metal parts of the machine.
• Do not allow metal tools to short between
the battery terminals and metal parts of the
machine.
WARNING
Incorrect battery-cable routing could damage
the machine and cables causing sparks.
Sparks can cause the battery gasses to
explode, resulting in personal injury.
• Always disconnect the negative-battery
cable (black) before disconnecting the
positive (red) cable.
• Always connect the positive-battery cable
(red) before connecting the negative
(black) cable.

Remove the battery cover

3.
Remove the hex-flanged bolt and flanged nut
from the negative-battery cable and negative (-)
battery terminal, and remove the cable from the
battery

Slide the red-terminal cover off the
positive-battery terminal
5.
Remove the hex-flanged bolt and flanged nut
from the positive (red) battery cable and the
positive (+) battery terminal, and remove the
cable from the battery

Remove the battery and battery box from the
battery tray of the machine.
Installing the Battery
1.
Place the battery into the battery box.
2.
Position the battery and battery box onto the
battery tray of the machine.
3.
Install the positive (red) battery cable to positive
(+) battery terminal with a flanged bolt and
flanged nut

Slide the red terminal cover over the
positive-battery terminal.
5.
Install the negative battery cable to the negative
(-) battery terminal with a flanged bolt and
flanged nut
(Figure

Align the battery cover to the battery box and
secure the cover and box to the battery tray with
the battery strap
