Using the desktop software — Using the Intellisync™ tool
complete instructions on configuring your PIM applications and for specific
information on the PIM application that you use on your desktop.
Integration with
enterprise email
account
To configure PIM synchronization
1.
Insert your handheld in the cradle. If a password is enabled on your handheld,
you must type it before you can connect to your desktop. In the BlackBerry
Desktop Manager, double-click the Intellisync icon. The Intellisync window
appears.

In the Intellisync window, click Configure PIM. The Handheld Configuration
window appears. Select a PIM application (Address Book, Calendar,
MemoPad, or Tasks) and click Choose. The Choose Translator window
appears. Select the program that you use on your desktop that corresponds to
the handheld PIM application you selected.

Click OK to return to the Handheld Configuration window. After you have
configured all of the PIM applications, click OK to return to the Intellisync
window.

In the Intellisync window, select the Synchronize PIM check box. Click
Synchronize now to perform the operation.
Your handheld and desktop will be synchronized through your handheld's serial
port. The next time you want to synchronize your PIM applications, insert your

If you have integrated the desktop software with an enterprise email
account, you can also reconcile the status and location of email
messages with the Intellisync tool. Refer to "Additional features for
integrating with an enterprise email account" on page 75 for more
information.
You can configure other options relating to PIM synchronization, such as
field mapping, synchronization filters, and conflict resolution settings. Refer
to the Intellisync Online Help for more information.
